Site redesign


A bit like how the backend of this site was getting dated the style of the site was also getting a bit dated. So now that the backend has been updated the code was in a state where the frontend could be updated more easily. One thing that started to get especially annoying was the fact that the toolbar sizing would break and just look bad:

Note how the software-engineering menu entry ends up on the line below on some screen resolutions and just looks ugly.

I'd been talking to Alysha Iannetta about templating systems and in the process of learning more about Jinja templates she made a new theme for Pelican which this site is now using. Because of her frontend skills this site now renders a whole lot better on more devices since her design is a much better reactive design compared to what was here before. Thanks Alysha!
