Daily writing goal
Over the last year or so I've found myself incredibly busy with running a business and doing a lot of specialized training workshops. Overall this has been entirely worth it, though I found that I was writing for myself a lot less than I used to, just about all of my writing was either done for work or blogging. But during this time the lack of writing has started to increasingly bother me, for very specific reasons that I'll have plenty of time to write about in the upcoming weeks.
Previously I was in the habit of writing every day for my own personal development reasons, this meant keeping track of topics that I was learning and tracking progress on many goals. This also meant mundane things like taking notes about less important things just to get them off my mind. I strongly believe that if you have in important goal that requires long term execution that writing is a great way to achieve these goals, the self-accountability aspect is great but also keeping track of progress is important, especially during difficult times. Realistically I think very difficult times are coming and I want to re-establish my habit of as soon as I can, such that I can free up as much mental clarity and capacity as possible to help later if the situation gets worse.
I was taking extensive notes when I was trying to improve my billiards skills to a competitive level and yesterday I took some notes about what techniques I was working on when I was last able to play. The bothersome thing is that I ended up in a situation where I was sufficiently time and energy poor to be able to consistently do such long term productivity enhancing work. One of the things I noticed is that by not writing I was losing some small, but consistent, percentage of overall effectiveness each day. Just losing a single percentage of effectiveness a day is devastating if it continues over a long period of time due to the exponential effects present in compounding interest. This phenomena I'll try to write about in the next few days.
My goal is to write every day, even if it's small and even if I don't publish it I aim to write something
